Contemporary paints can adversely affect the indoor air quality of your home or business through a process called off-gassing. Harmful toxins such as formaldehyde, fungicides, ammonia and other Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) can accumulate in indoor environments posing serious health risks to adults and especially children. The fumes created by synthetic ingredients used in conventional paint products are known to contribute to many health problems such as asthma, allergies, skin irritation, headaches and the degradation of your immune system.

Traditional paints and stains can negatively affect both the outside world and the indoor environment. The manufacturing of synthetic petrochemical paints leads to a host of deleterious effects on our environment, contributing to the release of VOCs and aromatic hydrocarbons that react with chlorine in the air which creates smog and other compounds that damage the ozone layer.

The paints that we offer use some of the most highly refined ingredients available, which eliminate the residual toxic chemicals found in typical paints. Our paints avoid using extenders, drying agents, formaldehyde, mildewcides and fungicides. This results in higher quality resin content and therefore a much higher grade paint film than most commercial paints.

We also carry a line of paints, stains and sealers that are based entirely from natural plant extracts. Some of the ingredients include natural plant dyes and oils, tree resins, waxes, cellulose and other plant fibers. These products often will work better and last longer than traditional products due to their natural bonding abilities with wood and their natural repellents for problems like water and mold. You will also find primers, stains and sealers that will seal off harmful fumes from older paint, drywall and particleboard. Using these products, which are made from entirely renewable resources, is a great way to promote a healthier environment, both indoor and out.
